Community guidelines
KeystoneXchange works because people can trust what they read here. These are the rules, in plain words, to help keep our marketplace fair and respectful.
Last updated October 29, 2026
The Terms of Service govern your legal relationship with KeystoneXchange LLC. Where these guidelines differ, the Terms control.
1Accounts
- 18 or older.
- One account per person.
- Signed-in members see your full name. Visitors who aren’t signed in see only your first name and last initial.
- Use your full legal name, including your full surname. Do not use a nickname, business name, or surname initial.
2Listing review
- Listings normally go through staff review before publication. Eligible sellers may receive Fast Track publishing, which can publish a validated listing automatically. Staff may require additional review or remove a listing that breaks the rules.
- KeystoneXchange reserves the right to reject or remove any listing at its discretion, including listings that are not specifically prohibited by these guidelines.
- We aim to review submissions within one business day, Saturday included. Review may result in approval, a request for changes, or rejection. All times are Eastern Time.
- Routine staff listing review pauses Sunday. Submissions awaiting staff review from Saturday evening or Sunday are normally reviewed Monday. Fast Track publishing may operate outside that schedule.
- Buying, selling, and messaging run every day. Only approvals pause.
- Editing a listing may send it back for review. Price changes do not.
- Fraud and safety reports are handled Sunday too.
3Language and images
- No profanity, innuendo, or suggestive language or images.
- Photograph the item, not a person wearing or holding it.

- State condition, including damage, repairs, and missing parts.
- List a real price.
- One item or lot per listing, in the right category.
- Renew rather than delete and repost.

- Report anyone who asks you to move the deal off KeystoneXchange, wire money, or send gift cards.
Nobody legitimate needs a wire transfer or a gift card. Those two requests, and anyone pushing you to keep talking somewhere else, are the signs worth reporting.
12Privacy
- Do not post anyone's personal information or photograph without permission.
- Faces are never required. Photograph the item.
- Do not publish private messages.
- Authorized staff may inspect conversations to investigate reports, harassment, fraud, and other guideline violations. Staff must record a reason, and access is logged.
13Businesses
Business owners may list items through their personal profiles. To preserve the peer-to-peer, neighborhood feel of KeystoneXchange, businesses may list only a handful of new items at a time.
14Reports and enforcement
A person reviews every report. Nothing here is decided by a machine.
- 1RemovalThe listing comes down.
- 2WarningA person explains what went wrong.
- 3SuspensionAccount paused for 7 days, 30 days, or until we restore it.
- 4PermanentAccount closed for good.
Fraud, theft, threats, and anything involving a minor skip the ladder and go straight to permanent removal.
To appeal a decision, use the Appeals page. Suspended accounts can still reach it. A different staff member than the one who made the decision reviews every appeal.
15Changes
Revised guidelines are posted here with their effective date. When these guidelines change, you’ll be asked to accept the new version before continuing to use your account.
